Free Group Ride
Six Hills of Fall City and Snoqualmie
Event has already happened.
Please note: During COVID-19 Phases 1.5 and 2, all Free Group Rides are limited to six total participants: the Ride Leader and five others. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another.
Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.
Join us for a ride from Fall City on a 61 mile route at vigorous 19mph (on flats - which are rare in this case - with no wind)!
This ride will take us up and down some less well known climbs around Fall City with an extension to Rattlesnake Lake. Starting from Fall City Community Park we will first hit the east side of Grand Ridge, then Mitchell Hill, then Fall City South. We will continue up to Lake Alice, take a shortcut through Snoqualmie Ridge and descend into Snoqualmie for a coffee/restroom break. From there we'll climb up to Rattlesnake Lake and then, on the return to Fall City we'll tackle the last climb up to Lake Marie.
Let's meet at the Fall City Community Park (parking lot on Neal Road SE) at 7:45am for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 8:00am.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup at the top and bottom of major climbs. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. Restrooms/water at miles 11 (Preston), 31 (downtown Snoqualmie), and 49 (Centennial Fields). We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks at Black Dog coffee at mile 31 in downtown Snoqualmie.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
