Free Group Ride
A Steady 40-mile Ride from Renton to Alki

Please note: During COVID-19 Phases 1.5 and 2, all Free Group Rides are limited to six total participants: the Ride Leader and five others. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another.
Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.
This is a relaxed ride with an experienced ride leader to grow your confidence with group riding. The route consists of trails and bike-friendly streets. We will start and finish at Burnett Linear Park in downtown Renton located along Burnett Ave S between S. 4th and S 5th St. The route takes us along the Green River and Duwamish Trails to South Park and to our mid-point coffee break at Starbucks at Alki beach (mile19). We’ll return via same route.The ride will take about 4 hours including rest stops.
Stops: Foster Links Golf Course (mile 6-brief restroom stop), Jack Block Park (brief restroom stop -mile 17) and Alki Starbucks (mile 19) for 20 minutes for coffee and pastries.
"Steady Pace" is 12-14 mph on flat surface without any headwind. We will go slower on hills and with a headwind and faster going downhill. Please arrive 20 minutes before the published start time so that we can roll out on-time at 10 a.m..
Please RSVP by clicking on the red Register Now button at the top of this page. Then put a checkmark in the waiver release box, complete the Emergency Contact Number, and click on Save. By doing this you will save time at the ride start. Note that this RSVP requires a Cascade Bicycle Club account.

Weather - Showers or more severe weather will cancel the ride. Ride cancellation will be announced below and in the comments section of the Cascade calendar entry at least two hours before start time and the ride leaders will not be at the start. If you have questions, please contact the Ride Leader.
What to Know Before You Go
- Advance registration required. Cancel if unable to attend, to open space for others.
- Must be present at safety briefing to participate.
- Helmets required.
- Riders under 18 years old require parental consent & approval from the Ride Leader.
