Renton to Black Diamond Coffee Ride

Please note: During COVID-19 Phases 1.5 and 2, all Free Group Rides are limited to six total participants: the Ride Leader and five others. Registration for the ride (using the red “Register Now” button above) is REQUIRED to participate. If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another.

Face coverings (for mouth and nose) are required when the group makes extended stops. Face coverings are recommended for the duration of the ride. Please bring personal hand sanitizer,  disinfecting wipes and tissues for use at rest stops.

This is a relaxed 43-mile ride at a steady pace from Old Renton City Hall at 200 Mill Ave S to the Black Diamond Bakery.  The route consists of trails and bike-friendly streets and will take about 4.5 hours including a mid-point 20-minute break at the bakery.  It features some light climbing in the first half followed by a mostly downhill second half.  Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the start time so that we can roll out on time at 9:30 a.m.

Stops: Maplewood Golf Course (mile 2-brief restroom stop) and Black Diamond Bakery- mile 20 (for a 20-minute coffee and pastry break)

"Steady Pace" is 12-14 mph on flat surface without any headwind. We will go slower on hills and with a headwind and faster going downhill.

Weather - Showers or more severe weather will cancel the ride.  Ride cancellation will be announced below and in the comments section of the Cascade calendar entry at least two hours before start time and the ride leaders will not be at the start.  If you have questions, please contact the Ride Leader.
