If you decide not to ride, please unregister for this ride so that an additional spot will be made available to another. Please register before 8am on the day of the ride.

New to riding or getting back into riding? WELCOME - or welcome back ! If you live in the Gig Harbor area and are getting a bit bored with Cushman Trail, but are not sure where else to ride, this is the ride for you! We'll be starting at the park and ride on Kimball and heading to the trailhead on 14th, then we'll go over the bridge and take a very safe route to Point Defiance Park. We'll loop around the beautiful 5 mile drive and then return. The 23 mile round trip is linked below. We'll be meeting at 9:45 am for introductions and a brief safety talk. This ride will be geared towards gaining confidence riding on streets with cars and taking your bike from one beautiful place to another.
This will be a social, no drop ride. We will re-group after hills and before turns if we are very spaced out. We may decide to do certain sections at our own paces, but we will establish where we are regrouping before separating. No rider will be left behind!
Helmets are required! Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.Other items to bring: ID, a charged cell phone, water, cash/credit card, a small snack. (also, as mentioned above, kleenex, wipes, hand sanitizer, a face covering)
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
