Join us as we explore not just one but two airports and learn a little about aviation history in Snohomish County!
We'll start at the now-closed Martha Lake Airport, where we'll see the last traces of the small private airfield that was turned into a park in 2010. Then we'll take streets (some busy, but with a bike lane) to Paine Field, which now offers commercial service to many West Coast cities.
Let's meet at Martha Lake Airport Park at 10:50 for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 11am.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently.
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at mile 11. We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks/lunch at Piroshky and Crepes at mile 16.
You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader will not be at the start location.
