Girl's Lunch: Kenmore-Edmonds (Women's Ride-Short Loop)
Event has already happened.
This is a women's ride. Hey Girl's, let's do lunch! We'll ride From Bothell Ski & Bike in Kenmore through Lynnwood to Edmonds where we'll have lunch at the Red Twig Cafe (about the 16 mile mark). Our stop will be about 30 minutes depending on the size of our group and food ordered.
The ride to Edmonds has a good share of hills sprinkled along the route, breaks here and there, and a fun mostly downhill run into Edmonds. On our return we'll climb out of the Edmonds Bowl, continuing with moderate ups and downs until we are rewarded with the always fun descent down Perkins as we head toward Kenmore.
We'll maintain an upper moderate pace (closer to 16 mph) on the flats w/o benefit/hindrance of wind, regrouping as necessary at the top/bottom of hills. Please climb/descend at your own pace. Riders ahead of or significantly behind the group may have to complete the ride on their own. It is recommended riders have the route on their GPS device or phone or print a cuesheet if necessary.
Riders should bring tools and knowledge to repair flats and minor mechanicals (e.g., patch kit, spare tube, pump, multi-tool). Please have a backup plan should your bike not be able to get you there (someone to call for a rescue or an ORCA card). It happens!
FENDERS: For the comfort and safety of your fellow riders as well as yourself, full fenders with long buddy flaps are greatly appreciated if it is wet or there is a chance of rain. You will be asked to ride in the back if you are spraying riders behind you. Weather can change quickly this time of year, please be prepared for all conditions by having proper gear and equipment.
It is recommended that riders carry sufficient hydration and snacks in case we experience any delays.
START: Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to prepare yourself and your bike prior to the safety briefing. Ride starts promptly at 10:00.
Restrooms and water available at the start.
PARKING: Please park in the spaces on the west side of the lot so that we do not impede Bothell Bike's customers.
REGISTRATION: To save time at the start and so that the leader can properly prepare for the ride, please register for the ride by clicking on red Register Now button. There is no need to unregister should you find you are no longer able to ride.
CANCELLATION: Ride will be canceled for steady rain or other unsafe riding conditions. Should conditions call for a cancellation day of ride, a cancellation notice will be posted in the comment section at least two hours prior. If conditions are questionable please check the comments below before leaving for the start. Leader will not be at start if ride is canceled 2+ hours prior to start.
