Saturday Morning Social Ride with the Three Amigos - Everett
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
This is a Three Amigos ride from Willis D. Tucker Community Park in Snohomish. It has some elevation gain to it, but it is a social ride and we will regroup often. The Route is a beautiful and flowing ride from the Willis D. Tucker Park to Mill Creek and back. We will have a short break at the Mill Creek Town Center, mile 14.8. The route for this ride was perfected by Michael and Petra Silverstein – Thanks!.
The "Three Amigos" refers to three friends who have been riding together for years, two of us became ride leaders to spread the physical and social aspect of bike riding with our Cascade Clubs friends. Our third Amigo was a ride leader for 8 years with the Snohomish Bicycle shop. The Three Amigos rides will have a similar feel to the old shop rides. We stay together and encourage each other at all times.
Let's meet at Willis D. Tucker Community Park, in the South-East Parking Lot at 8:45 AM for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure at 9:00 AM.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together. Nobody gets dropped. We do everything we can to help with mechanical issues. There are some circumstances that arise where somebody may need to find their own way home, like breaking a chain, so make sure to have a cue sheet or phone for help.
If you have been riding at a steady pace and are ready to try a moderate ride, this is the ride for you. We stay together. The challenge is on the hills and that is why this ride is a great ride for you. You will not be dropped and left for dead. Your efforts will be rewarded as you are cheered on by the "Peloton." This is a great ride for couples who are at different paces, the aggressive riders can hit some hills to get your heart rate up and circle back for the rider who is stretching to get to the next level. Our pace on the flats is 16 mph and our speed varies on the hills. We have all been through the process of trying to get to another level. We applaud those who are making the effort, we will wait.
And since it is a social ride we normally go for coffee after the ride.
Restrooms are available at the start.
You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to delete your registration if you decide not to ride.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Expectations (important, please read!): Be ready to ride 15 minutes before the start of the ride to participate in the safety briefing. S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; we want to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish County and be safe! Front and rear lights are highly recommended! Riders should be able to maintain the chosen pace. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by having a positive attitude, having fenders when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast, enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun!
Steady rain or other unsafe conditions cancels the ride. If the ride is canceled by 7:00 am, it will be posted in the comment section. In that case, the ride leaders will not be at the start.
