FRUMPS: Redmond to Mercer Island
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a steady, social, and sometimes hilly ride from Redmond to Mercer Island. The route starts/ends at East Lake Samammish Trailhead parking lot adjacent to Whole Foods. There is a porta-potty at the start but not water. This is a mid-week ride on bike friendly roads. There are hills on this ride, but we climb the hills at our own pace and always regroup at the top. We will head west on the 520 Trail and then go through Bellevue & Beaux Arts on the way to Mercer Island. Lunch (about 30 minutes) will be The New Seasons on Mercer Island (mile 25.8) which has an extensive offering of deli type foods. We will return through Bellevue via BCC and drop down into Marymoor for our final run back. There will be a rest stop at Bellevue City Park at about mile 12.5. While we have no planned rest stop on the return leg of the ride, we will be close to optional facilities should they be needed.
Riders should be able to sustain the pace, carry nutrition/water, and have the know-how and equipment to fix a flat tire. Everyone should carry a phone to call for assistance if needed. We will regroup after climbs and at major intersections. New riders are welcome - please see the Cascade Bicycle Club web page for new riders as noted below.
Please arrive in time to be ready for the Safety & Route Briefing at 9:45 am with our plan to start the ride at 10:00 a.m.
