Ride to the Wild Sky

Join us for a 68.8 mile, 3,600' elevation gain ride as we bike from Monroe to Index and on to the end of the Index-Galena Road.  We will return to Monroe via the Ben Howard Road.  There will be a snack stop alongside the beautiful north fork of the Skykomish river in the Wild Sky Wilderness and we will stop for lunch in the town of Start Up on the way back to Monroe.  There is a public restroom in Index if anyone needs a stop there.  We will be riding on Hwy 2 for about 10 miles of the ride.  For the most part, there is a wide shoulder on the highway, but there are two bridges (each way) that we will cross for which we will need to take the lane.  

The pace for the ride will be low brisk pace, with several stops to enjoy the scenery.

Please make sure to arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the start time to get your bike set up, sign the waiver, and to listen to the safety talk.

You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.

The ride leaders will not be at the ride start should conditions be as noted in “Showers Cancels” above.  The ride leader will announce the cancellation in the comments section below at least 2 hours prior to the ride start and will monitor my phone and/or email listed in the contact information.
