Free Group Ride
CBC to the Waterfront (a not-so-viaduct ride)
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Let's ride to the Waterfront, and check out the water views on the way to and from. We'll get a taste at how the demise of the Alaskan Way viaduct changes the landscape, and roll along Lake Washington and the Ship Canal. There are a few other recumbent riders planning to join me for this ride, so you can also gawk at the interesting hardware, or just chat about why we like to ride a little differently!
We'll start from Cascade Bicycle Club at 9:00 am, but please show up 20 minutes early so we can get organized and go through a quick safety brief. Our pace will be Moderate, 14-16 mph on flat ground with no wind. We should be back around lunchtime, and I'm planning to refuel and rehydrate at Magnuson Cafe and Brewery next door after the ride.
You are encouraged to pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
