This ride has been canceled.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS RIDE IS DESIGNED FOR EXPERIENCED RIDERS. THERE ARE HILLS, SUBSTANTIAL ELEVATION GAIN ROADS WITHOUT SHOULDERS AND FEW REGROUP POINTS.
Starting a Point Defiance, we ride through the Park, across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and into Gig Harbor for a quick rest stop. We continue around the the bay and on to the Kitsap Peninsula, along country roads, hills and farmland back to Tacoma and the Park. Starbucks has found its way to Kitsap peninsula, so we will have a food break there at approx mile 28.5
As we plan to leave on time, arrive 10 minutes early to participate in the ride briefing and safety talk. Restrooms and water available at the start. Pace is Moderate,14-16 MPH with regroups at turns.
Please come with the equipment and know-how to take care of your own flats and mechanicals and with cue sheet and plan for getting back to the start if your bike won't take you there. If you have a problem the group will stop briefly to make sure you will be OK on your own, but we will not wait for repairs to be completed.
Forecast for rain or unsafe riding conditions will be cause for cancellation, in which case the ride leader will not be at the start and the cancellation will be posted (in Comments, below) at least 3 hours before the start.
Pre-register by clicking the red "Register Now" button above. Preregistering saves time at the start and allows me to contact you in case of a change. There is no need to unregister if you decide not to ride.
We hope you can join us!
