Free Group Ride
Lopez Island
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Come cycle the friendly island! A few years ago, Bicycling Magazine called Lopez the best ride in Washington. What took them so long? This ride has it all - beautiful views, beaches, deer, sea lions, and maybe the occasional orca. We'll pick between favorites Iceberg Point and Spencer Spit and see others including Shark Reef, Richardson and the Center church. This will be more than just a ride, rather an exploration of Lopez Island which will include several short hikes.
Bring money for lunch and the ferry and a lock for your bike. Also wear or bring shoes that you can walk in for a half mile or so. The mileage seems low for a full day but you'll know you've done some riding by the end of the day. We'll catch the 9:35 ferry from Anacortes. Meet at Mariner Park & Ride, 13102 4th Ave W, Everett, WA at 7:30 AM if you want to carpool or join us at the ferry terminal.
Please RSVP by clicking on the red "Register Now" button under the ride title above, then checking the box for "Waiver Signature" and filling in the contact information. This will save us time at the start. Note that the on-line RSVP requires a Cascade Bicycle Club account, which is easy to set up, but if you don't want one of those just come anyway and sign the hard-copy attendance/hold harmless sheet.
If weather conditions meet the "Showers cancel" criterion, I will post a cancellation note in Comments, below, by 6:30 AM and I will not go to the start. If the weather looks iffy, please check here before leaving for the ride.
