Event has already happened.
Join us for a steady, social, occasionally hilly ride from Kirkland which will ride a counterclockwise loop around the north end of Lake Washington. For this week's route, we have found a way to reduce some of the hill climbs compared to the last few rides.....the ride is still designated as hilly, just not quite as hilly! We will head north from Kirkland to pick up the Burke-Gilman trail. We will diverge from the Burke Gilman trail about Mathews Beach and use the Ravenna Loop route to head on largely back streets toward the University Village complex. After a food/coffee stop in the University Village, we will return to Highway 520 Bridge bike path through the eastern side of the U Washington campus (which fortunately is between Spring and Summer Quarters this week!). Crossing the Highway 520 Bridge we will return to our start in Kirkland. The route starts/ends at Heritage Park in downtown Kirkland with optional restroom stops at Juanita Park (2.5 miles) and at Log Boom Park (9.1 miles). This is a mid-week ride on bike friendly roads and trails with a coffee/food stop on the route which will be at the QFC complex in the University Village (19.7 miles). There are hills, but we climb them at our own pace and always regroup at the top. Don and Jane will be gone again this week so we will do our best with your help to try to keep the series rides going!
