Monday Night Mercer Island

Join us for a 32.5 mile, 2079' elevation gain as we bike through the neighborhoods of Capitol Hill, Mercer Island, Leschi, Central District and Montlake.  Along the way, we will visit Interlaken Park, do a loop around Mercer Island, ride through Frink Park, stop for a viewpoint in Leschi, bike past the Holy Names Academy, and bike through Interlaken Park a second time on our return to Gas Works Park.  The route will have one short section on an unpaved trail and one short section of cobblestone.  If time allows, there will be one optional short, steep climb up a paved trail for the climbing enthusiasts.  Those not wishing to do this climb will get a few minute rest break while this section is being done.  We will re-group on the tops of all major hills.  Afterwards, we'll head to the Nickerson Street Saloon for food, drinks and socializing for those interested.  

The pace for this ride will be high moderate (15-16 mph on the flats).

Please make sure to arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the start time to get your bike set up, sign the waiver, and to listen to the safety talk.

The ride leaders will not be at the ride start should conditions be as noted in “Showers Cancels” above.  The ride leader will announce the cancellation in the comments section below at least 2 hours prior to the ride start and will monitor my phone and/or email listed in the contact information.
