Ravenna Gorge, Sunset Park & Discovery Park Lighthouse

Join us for a 22.2 mile, 1452' elevation gain as we bike through the neighborhoods of Green Lake, Phinney Ridge, Loyal Heights, Sunset Hill and Magnolia.  Along the way, we will visit Ravenna Park, Green Lake, the Sakya Monastery, Sunset Park, the Ballard Locks, the Discovery Park Lighthouse, and Lawton Park.  The route through Ravenna Park is on an unpaved trail.  For those wanting a little less elevation gain for the ride, the descent and subsequent climb (~270') to/from the Discovery Park Lighthouse is optional.  Those not wishing to do this climb will get a few minute rest break while this section is being done.  We will re-group on the tops of all major hills.  Afterwards, we'll head to the Nickerson Street Saloon for food, drinks and socializing for those interested.  

Please make sure to arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the start time to get your bike set up, sign the waiver, and to listen to the safety talk.

The ride leaders will not be at the ride start should conditions be as noted in “Showers Cancels” above.  The ride leader will announce the cancellation in the comments section below at least 2 hours prior to the ride start and will monitor my phone and/or email listed in the contact information.
