Woodland Park - Maplewood Park Loop (Moderate)
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Let's make the most of the 70 & sunny forecast for Monday!
Route: This loop starts at Woodland Park and heads north to Edmonds. The route includes several fun longer descents, lots of rolling terrain, and one longer climb through a wooded area (Maplewood Park) at the mid-point to keep us honest.
Start Time: Plan to arrive by 9:45am in time to check-in and hear details about the route, safety briefing, etc. so we can roll out promptly at 10:00am.
At the start: The water fountain at the start is broken, but bathrooms & sinks to fill bottles (probably same water as from the water fountain) are available if needed.
Regrouping: We will regroup at the top of hills and after the long descents for a reasonable time, but if you are too fast/slow for the posted pace, you may need to finish self-paced on your own.
Stops: There is one planned rest stop 18 miles in at Lake Ballinger Park. There are restrooms and water fountain, plus a nice view of the lake.
To bring: Please bring the route loaded on phone/gps device, or print a cue sheet, to ensure you do not miss any turns (may not be a sweep available on this ride, though we will regroup as needed). Please pack water, snack, and tools/tubes to fix a flat as always. Carrying an ORCA card and/or a phone in case of un-fixable mechanical is recommended.
Weather notice: In case of inclement weather, the ride leader will post a cancellation notice in the comments section below by 8:00am day of the ride, and the ride leader(s) will not be at the ride start.
