Free Group Ride
Newport/196th Loop
Event has already happened.
This is a nice route featuring some climbing, quiet neighborhoods and fun descents. We start at old Renton City Hall, stop briefly at Gene Coulon before heading up to Newcastle and on to Bellevue. Our second climb is up the Lake Hills Connector then we have a short break at Lake Hills Park. We descend to Lake Sammamish Parkway, go up Newport prior to dropping into Factoria. A few rolling hills and one descent later it's up everyone's favorite hill, 196th. A quick final break at Petrovitsky Park and then the last few miles through some quiet residential areas, prior to a last descent back into downtown Renton. In the event of damp weather, your use of fenders with mud flaps is greatly appreciated. Please arrive early so you can get ready to ride and attend the safety briefing. In the event of steady rain decision will be made two hours prior and posted on Cascade web site, Ride Leader will not be at start in event of cancellation.
