Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
We will ride north on the Burke-Gilman Trail passing Logboom Park and Blyth Park. Then we ride on toward Woodinville past Wilmot Gateway Park. We will take a break at Wilmot to use the restrooms. We then ride south toward Marymore Park and circle through Redmond. We will then ride back to Wilmot Park and return to Matthews Beach. Bring snacks and lunch with you as there will be no lunch stop. The terrain is generally flat. The pace is steady at 12 to 14 mph. Helmets and a functioning bicycle are required. Free parking at Matthews Beach parking lot. Arrive early to beat the sea gulls for a good parking spot.
Route: Come and enjoy this social bike ride along the Burke Gilman and Samammish River Trails to look at the captivating scenery. The lake views are pretty special, especially on a clear day. There are nesting pairs of bald eagles along the route.
Fenders: If the riding surfaces are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry.
Ride start: Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the ride to sign the liability waiver and hear the safety briefing (SMART). Water and restrooms are available.
Mechanical: Be prepared if you have a mechanical problem e.g. flat tire. Bring a spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump and skills to fix flats, and have a mobile phone and a plan for rescue in case your bike fails. An ORCA card or cash for public transportation is a good idea in the event you are unable to ride back to the ride start location.
Cue sheets - No cue sheets provided, this is a stay together ride.
Register - Please sign an e-waiver by clicking on the “Register Now” button at the top of this page (right below the ride title) and enter your information. If you cannot make the ride, you do not need to unregister.
Weather cancellation: The listed phone number will not be answered on the day of the ride. If "Showers cancel" conditions exist on ride day, I will not go to the start. In that case, I'll post a ride-canceled message in the Comments block below, not later than two hours prior to start time. Ice or frost/snow that makes driving to the start unwise also will cancel. If the weather looks iffy, check here before leaving for the ride
If you have questions, please contact the Ride Leader.
