Easy Saturday Afternoon Coffee Ride

Do you want to do more biking, but don't like mornings or big hills? (Or just want a fairly easy, social ride?) Come join us for a ride up the Interurban Trail! We'll ride north on the Interurban to Shoreline, do a short loop on streets for practice, stop at Starbucks on 185th for coffee and snacks, then head back down the trail. Most of the elevation change is gradual, and the few hills are fairly short.

Beginners are VERY welcome! If you're not sure what pace you ride, feel free to come anyway, and we'll stick together. The ride length and difficulty should be appropriate for people who have done some bike commuting and/or are in decent shape in general. Feel free to email me if you have any questions!

What to bring: Helmets are required, but no other special cycling gear is needed for a ride of this length. Some other good things to bring: water, cell phone, ID, credit card, bus pass or cash (in case of mechanical issues), supplies to fix a flat (if you have them).

Please arrive at the start 20 minutes early to allow time to get your bike ready and listen to the safety talk, so we can depart at 2:00pm. The start location is right by the south end of the Interurban, so we can ride the entire North Seattle/Shoreline section without climbing any hills to get there. It's not an official park (no restroom or water), but there's plenty of parking. We can stop at Bitter Lake Park one mile up the trail for water or restrooms if needed.
