Tour de Brunch Rides Again #11: Tacoma - Red Elm Cafe

Tour de Brunch Rides Again!  This is the March ride in a series, generally on the last Sunday of each month, followed by brunch, in the Tacoma / Gig Harbor area. Credit for this series to Doug Pfeffer, who got me hooked on his Tour de Brunch series last year. . 

Ride #11 : Brunch and start location is Red Elm Cafe, a bike friendly and more affordable breakfast and lunch spot in Tacoma. Ride will take us through much of Tacoma's Scott Pierson Trail, Point Defiance Park and Ruston Way waterfront.  Links to route on Ride with GPS and Red Elm below.    

Pace is moderate - defined at 14-16 miles per hour on flat windless terrain. There are a few hills and we will regroup after them. Ride is more social than training - slightly slower riders and faster riders who can pace down a bit are welcome. Helmets are required for all participants on Cascade Free Group rides. Some other good things to have: a charged cell phone, ID, water and snacks, supplies to fix a flat (spare tube, pump, tire levers) fenders on your bike if roads are wet, front and back lights. Bring a credit card and/or cash, especially if you are staying for brunch. A lock for your bike is also a good idea. 

Register for the ride by clicking the red "Register Now" button at the top. Basic Cascade Bicycle Club memberships are now FREE - so become a basic member if you do not already have an account (or just be sure to show up at 9:15 so you can sign the waiver before we ride at 9:30).   

Cancellation Policy: Steady rain cancels. If the ride is canceled, the cancellation will be posted in the comments section below before 7:30 am and ride leader will not be at the start.
