Grand Ridge and Duthie Hill Park Mountain Biking
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Mountain biking up the steep single-track twists and hairpin turns of Grand Ridge to Duthie Hill park. The route will include a few runs in Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park. The return route is as hard if not more difficult than the route up. This is a beautiful area with lots of trees, wetlands, creeks, rocks, hairpin turns and heart-attack climbing. The route will be about 20 miles, but may vary depending upon trail and weather conditions. Allow 3 hours for the ride. The pace will be about 8 mph, but that is deceptive as it is steep climbing. We will try to stay together, but it is hard to get lost. There is no cue sheet or GPS route needed or provided. Be prepared for muddy conditions and some downed trees across the trail.
Bring everything you need including water, food, tubes, and a chain quick link (trust me on this). There are no services, food or water available on this route. Make sure your bike is in great working order. Mountain bikes only! Expect muddy conditions. If there is icy or snow conditions, the ride leader may alter the course to accomodate the current conditions.
