Tukwila, Trek Bike to Ivar's
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Let's ride to Ivar's on the Seattle waterfront and wave good-bye to the Alaska Way viaduct. Our start will be the Trek Bicycle store at Southcenter. The route is mostly flat as we follow the Green River, Duwamish and Elliott Bay trails. With many viewpoints along the way, we'll take a photo of the Space Needle from the West Seattle Bridge. The main stop will be at Ivar's (where seagulls will gladly accept donations). There is a Starbucks as well as a Subway nearby or bring snacks or lunch. We will stay 40 minutes to allow for photo, restroom and sightseeing. The Alaskan Way Viaduct is being torn down there may be extra noise but let’s be there for this history in the making.
Restrooms: No restrooms at start, first one is two miles into the ride. Please park in the far stalls across from Trek Bicycle. Bringing a bike lock is recommended. After the ride if there is interest we can go to the bowling alley where there is shuffle board, pool, arcade games as well as food and drinks.
Bring all tools and tubes needed to fix a flat. Wearing bright clothes is encouraged. Please be courteous to your fellow riders and arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the start to prepare your bike, listen to the ride briefing and allow us to leave on time. Cue sheets will not be provided, please print one if desired. As with all Cascade rides helmets are required.
In the event of bad weather, the ride leader will post a cancelation in the comment section two hours before the ride start, and the Ride Leader will not be at the start. Please come prepared for winter elements.
