Tunnel Ride from Marina Park, Kirkland (One Way) - Brisk

Join us for an EARLY MORNING (!) ride to the start of the Cascade Tunnel Ride.

We'll start in Kirkland at Marina Park and head down the waterfront to the 520 Trail, across the 520 bridge, west on the Burke-Gilman Trail/Cheshiahud Lake Union Loop, then south a couple of miles to the start of the Tunnel Ride at 6th and Harrison.

This is a one-way ride to the start, so you'll be responsible for getting home, at which time the sun should be up, and you'll probably be awake. The sun WON'T be up at the start, however, so you'll need a good HEADLIGHT AND TAILIGHT for this ride (and don't forget the coffee!)

Relaxed brisk pace, speed limit observed on regional trails.

You'll need to have registered for the Tunnel Ride already; it's sold out, and this ride only gets you to the start.

Know how to change a flat and bring what you need to do so. We won't be able to wait for flat repair/mechanicals since we're on a schedule. Have a phone and a plan to get home if your bike fails you.

Be considerate and have full fenders including long mud flaps if roads are wet or rain is in the forecast. If the fenders/flaps don't come within about 4" of the ground, pay attention and stay behind everyone who has better wheel coverage than you do if the road is wet.

Please sign up online via the link below at least two hours before ride time to make sure that you are on the printed waiver. You'll need a basic free Cascade account to do so. No need to cancel if you can't make it. You can also sign up at the start.

Please arrive 15 minutes early for ride prep and briefing.
