Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
A mixed road and gravel ride with a challenging gravel climb to the paragliding launch site at Poo Poo Point on Tiger Mountain.
This out-and-back route follows the East Lake Sammamish Trail, Issaquah Preston Trail, and Rainier Trail to take us to the South side of Issaquah. After a short ride on the Issaquah Hobart Road, the climbing begins. First, a paved-road climb up Tiger Mountain Road, followed by a steep gravel climb to Poo Poo Point.
A bike suitable for riding on gravel is required for this ride. Wide tires, 32-35 or wider are recommended. Low gearing will also be helpful (some popular gear setups are 48/32 in front and 11/34 in back or 40t 1x gearing in front with 10/42 in back).
Riders should bring tools and knowledge to repair flats and minor mechanicals.
Bring enough food and water for the ride. We will plan on a snack/lunch break at Poo Poo Point while we enjoy the views.
There is a port-a-pot at the start. Water and restroom break at Lake Sammamish State Park (mile 8.6).
Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to prepare yourself and your bike prior to the safety briefing. Ride rolls out promptly at 9:00am.
Steady rain, snow or ice cancels. Cancellation will be announced in the Comments Section below at least two (2) hours prior to the ride start.
