Free Group Ride
Lake Sammamish Loop
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Please join us for a ride around Lake Sammamish! This is an easy route, with little elevation gain, and a great way to get those legs moving! We will stop for coffee/refreshments at about halfway.
Beginning riders are extremely welcome! However, you should be prepared to maintain a Leisurely pace: 10-12 mph on level ground, and you should be prepared to ride about 23 miles in total on rolling terrain. If you get separated from the group, you may need to find your way back alone, so you should know how to read a cue sheet, or have the route loaded on a bike computer or mobile phone.
Rest stops: Porta-pots are located at the East Lake Sammamish Trailhead west of the Whole Foods parking lot. Use of store restrooms requires purchase.
Parking: Do not park in front of Peet's or any other business storefront. We suggest that you park in the East Lake Sammamish Trailhead parking lot.
Weather: Showers will result in a cancellation, and the ride leader will post this information here at least two hours before the start of the ride. If showers start after that, we could still cancel at the start as well. Icy roads also cancel.
Wet roads: Please come with long fenders, including a buddy flap, if the roads are wet. Without them, you will be asked to ride in the back of the group.
Trails: We'll be on the East Lake Sammamish Trail for the ride back up from Issaquah to Redmond and also on East Lake Sammamish road itself.
Mechanical issues: You should also be prepared to fix a flat tire, with tools, tubes and the ability to change the tire yourself. The group will generally not stop for repairs.
Registration: Please sign the electronic waiver above. This saves time at the start of the ride. Use the "Register Now" button, which will only be available after you log in. I will print the eWaiver at around 8am, so please sign it before then.
Note: Please show up to the ride start at least 20 minutes early, so we can get through the safety briefing before starting the ride promptly at 10:00am. We will be in Peet's Coffee before the ride start.
