Auburn - Black Diamond #3

Let's meet at the Auburn Library parking lot (park away from the Library entrance) and roll out at 9:00 for a moderate paced, 29 mile loop to Black Diamond Bakery and back. We'll zip out of Auburn on Auburn-Black Diamond Rd then hang a right on 148th Way for a stiff little climb up to Lake Holm Rd. Then on to the rollers of Lake Moneysmith Rd and back to Auburn-Black Diamond Rd and into Black Diamond for coffee and pastries at the Black Diamond Bakery. We'll return via Plass Rd with a short section of gravel and rough pavement, then Green Valley Rd all the way back to Auburn. An option on this ride will be to visit Flaming Geyser Park and see if we can see any salmon or flaming geysers. If we decide to do this it will add about 4 miles to the ride.

The ride leader will ride a moderate pace on the flats. Faster riders are welcome to ride ahead but please regroup as appropriate. We'll have regroups at the top/bottom of long climbs/descents and at major intersections.

There's a (rather nasty) porta-let at Les Gove Park, or you may choose to use the restroom in the Senior Center nearby. The next restroom will be at the Black Diamond Bakery.

Please arrive at the start 20 minutes early so you have time to ready your bike, sign the ride waiver, and listen to the SMART safety talk.

If ride is canceled due to weather it will be posted here in comments by 7:00 am and ride leader will not be waiting at the start. Please take the time to make sure your bike is in good working order and be prepared to fix flats and deal with routine mechanical issues. Bring a phone in case of major breakdown. Route and cue sheet link below. Please print your cue sheet if needed.
