Welcome Fall: West Seattle to Southworth <80>

First Day of Fall! Perfect day for an 80 mile, 19mph ride south across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge to Kitsap County. Let's meet at 0830 in the Lincoln Park parking lot in West Seattle, just north of the Fauntleroy ferry terminal. That will give us time for the pre-ride briefing so we can roll promptly at 0845. Our route will take us along some hills and bluffs adjacent to Puget Sound, down towards Dash Point. From there we'll continue along Commencement Bay to Tacoma where we'll stop for a midway coffee. Then a loop through Point Defiance Park prior to our trip across the Tacoma Narrows to Gig Harbor, where we will stop for a snack. Then we'll proceed north through rural Kistap County to the ferry at Southworth where we will embark for our return to West Seattle (ferry is free in this direction). 

Our goal will be to ride together, regrouping as necessary at the tops of the bigger climbs. And we'll also take quick stops for photos at some of the nice water vistas. Restrooms available near the start, and we'll stop at miles 21, 43 (coffee), 61(food) and 80. We will limit speed to 15mph when on multi-purpose paths. A rear fender is recommended if the roads are wet.
