Event has already happened.
Join us for a 20.8 mile, 1625' elevation gain as we bike through the neighborhoods of Queen Anne, Wallingford, Green Lake, Phinney Ridge, West Woodland, Ballard and Magnolia. Along the way, we will bike across the Aurora Bridge (on the walkway), and bike by Harry and the Henderson's house, Rasmus Peter Jensen home, Nordic Heritage Museum, Ballard Locks, the Indiana Jones Bridge, Discovery Park, Perkins Lane, Magnolia Water Tower, Lawton Park and the South Ship Canal Trail. We will climb the 13th steepest street in Seattle (Queen Anne Ave. between Etruria and Florentia) and if time permits, we will have an optional descent (and subsequent climb) for the climbing enthusiasts to the Discovery Park Lighthouse. Those not wishing to do the optional climb will get a rest break for several minutes. We will re-group on the tops of all major hills. Afterwards, we'll head to the Nickerson Street Saloon for food, drinks and socializing for those interested.
Please make sure to arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the start time to get your bike set up, sign the waiver, and to listen to the safety talk.
The ride leaders will not be at the ride start should conditions be as noted in “Showers Cancels” above. The ride leader will announce the cancellation in the comments section below at least 2 hours prior to the ride start and will monitor my phone and/or email listed in the contact information. If you have questions about the weather, please call (or email) before you leave for the ride.
