You will love this hilly Camano Island tour designed for experienced riders featuring country roads, beautiful scenery & views. The ride is definitely worth the drive to the starting point.

Services are few in the interior of this rural island, but @ about 14 miles we halt for fine (and limited) dining Gas Station style.( I saw hot dogs on a rotisserie..)  Fair warning; I'm bringing  a sandwich.

Moderate pace, best for the experienced rider;14-16 MPH on flat with no wind; faster downhill and slower up with occasional regrouping at turns.  Sani can at start, but no water. 

I will not be at the start if weather conditions are not suitable for riding (showers cancel), and I will post a  notice in the Comments section at least 3 hours prior.

If you click on the red REGISTER NOW button at the top of this page you will save time at the start.  Note that online registration requires a FREE Cascade Bicycle Club Account, but if you don’t have/don’t want one, you can manually sign the waiver on location.

What Pace Means

Pace classification indicates the intended range of speeds on level ground without breaks. This means downhill sections of the ride may be faster, and uphill sections slower.

Note: For rides with a “hilly” terrain classification, consider choosing a pace one step down from your usual comfort level.

What Terrain Means

Terrain indicates the most common or average terrain type of the ride and should be considered relative to the length and overall difficulty of the ride. For example, a long-distance ride with a lot of elevation gain will be overall less challenging than a short ride with equal elevation gain. Consider the pace and frequency of regroup as well to understand how advanced a ride may be.

  • Mostly flat: Trails and/or mostly flat roads with a possible gentle uphill
  • Rolling: Climbs are short and easy, not too numerous
  • Some hills: A few short, steep hills, some moderate upgrades and/or longer gentle climbs
  • Hilly: Consistent or continuous climbing
  • Off-road: Significant unpaved sections
