Salty Century

The weather is heating up, and the days don't get any longer. This is the best time to take in the unique beauty of the Puget Sound area, and there is no better way than on your bicycle! While this is a challenging route, with over 6600' of climbing, there are two ferry rides to break it up, and one to the finish. Starting at Marina Beach Park, in Edmonds, we will ride north to Mukeltio to catch a ferry to Clinton, at the south end of Whidbey Island. Continuing north up the island, we will ride through historic Fort Casey, and on to the Keystone ferry. Arriving in Port Townsend, we will have a few options for a lunch stop. We will then work our way through Port Hadlock, and Port Ludlow, and across the Hood Canal Bridge. Ahead lies still more climbing across the Kitsap Peninsula, to get us to our final ferry ride from Kingston and back to Edmonds. I expect this to be a warm day, so please carry two water bottles and keep hydrated.

**Parking at the park may now be limited to 3 or 4 hours, insufficient time for this ride. You will need to find parking as you can. This will not change the starting time or location. Look here Wednesday night for an update on the parking situation.

Please be ready to ride by 7:35AM, so we can discuss riding S.M.A.R.T. and the route. We will roll at 7:45AM sharp.

You will need to have money for ferry tolls and food stops.

There are porta-potties at the start, and several bathroom options throughout the ride.

All riders need to have the tools and ability to repair a flat tire, and have a back-up plan in the event that they cannot finish the ride, for any reason.

Please register for the ride by using the red "register now" button. This will save time at the ride start, and is most appreciated!

In the event of weather cancellation, I will post it here, at least 2 hours prior to ride start, and will not be at the start.
