A Steady Spin to Flaming Geyser

Please note that a ride leader candidate will be mentored for this ride.

Please join us as we will start at Hogan (Russell) Park and connect to the roads that will lead us to the scenic Green Valley Road, past farms and meadows.  Then we'll make a stop at Flaming Geyser Park, where we'll enjoy a break and the park (perhaps looking at some pieces of history of the park).  From there, we'll re-trace our path back to Kent (with an optional restroom stop at Isaac Evans Park).  The conclusion of the ride will be riding on the other side of the Green River (which is Frager Rd, then back to the Green River Trail).  Because there is no actual food stop along the route, we can go to the Kent Station for an apres-velo gathering as there are quite a bit of choice to eat at...please bring enough food and water to be energized for this ride.

The pace of this ride is based on having no wind.  If we have a headwind, the pace will be lower; if we have a tailwind, the pace may be higher.  Keep this in mind when deciding to do this ride.

Riders should bring a spare tube, tools and the know-how to fix a flat.  Please arrive at the start by 8:45 am for the safety briefing so we can roll promptly at 9:00 am.  Restrooms are located in the park.

The ride leader(s) will not be at the ride start should inclement weather meets the definition for cancellation (showers and steady rain).  Ride cancellation will be announced in the Comments Section below at least two (2) hours prior to the ride start.  If you have questions about the weather, please call 818-590-8167, preferably before you leave for the ride.
