CycloFemme Lake Sammamish Loop
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Come join us on Mother's Day for the 2018 CycloFemme Ride!
CycloFemme is a Global Celebration of Women created TO HONOR THE PAST from the shoulders of those who stood before us, for the freedom to choose and the chance to wear pants. TO CELEBRATE THE PRESENT with strength and courage, voices raised, moving together. TO EMPOWER THE FUTURE of women everywhere, the backbone of positive social change.
We will ride counter-clockwise around Lake Sammamish and will mostly be on the road for this ride (just a small section of trail). There are 3-4 easy, hill-like inclines along the way and we will regroup at the top of each one. Restroom options at the start are limited to the local stores (e.g., Gerk's, Petsmart, Lowes, Barnes & Noble, etc.) There is a restroom mid-way through the ride at Marymoor Park. We'll also have the option of stopping for coffee or hot chocolate if desired.
General Ride Notes: Steady rain, ice/snow, and any other hazardous conditions will cancel a ride. If a ride is canceled, it will be posted here, in the comment section below, and on the Cascade page by 9:00 a.m. If that notice is posted, the ride leaders will not be at the start.
Helmets are required for these rides. All riders should come equipped to deal with their own mechanicals (e.g., spare tube, tire levers, pump, etc.) and bring enough snacks and water. Waiting for mechanicals will be at the discretion of the ride leader.
Arrive at least 20 minutes early (10:40 a.m.) so that you can get yourself ready, sign the waiver, and listen to the S.M.A.R.T. briefing (10:50 a.m.). Our roll-out time is 11 a.m.! (Please be on time. Riders not present for the safety briefing will not be allowed to ride with the group.)
We will post the final version of the route and cue sheet a few days prior to the ride date in the comment section below. Printed cue sheets will be available at the start and all riders are expected have one (even if you have a smartphone or Garmin GPS). The draft route is linked below.
Pre-registering online: If you have a Cascade account, you can pre-register for this ride online by clicking on the Register button at the top of this page and entering your information. Pre-registering saves time at the beginning of the ride and provides legible emergency contact information. If you cannot make the ride, you do not need to un-register.
