Event has already happened.
The "Rock" in the title is because this ride is a ride through some of Seattle's Rock history, riding past the Edgewater Hotel, Jimi Henrix's childhood neighborhoood, Curt Cobain's home, and a stop for lunch at Jimi's gravesite in Renton.
The "Paper" is not ZigZag papers but instead, is a brief litter pick up at three close in proximity parks in the Rainier Beach area. We will spend approximatley 15 minutes collecting litter with the group divided into up to three parks in close proximity. That is a total of 15 minutes for this stop with the 3 parks being simultaneously cleaned. I will provide new Parks Dept provided gloves and litter bags for anyone who wants to participate. Those who don't want to collect litter are welcome to wait while others participate.
Our "Cycles" will do a loop of the south half of Lk WA , riding the waterfront, over Yesler to Lk WA ,then south on Lk WA to Renton and back across the I 90 Bridge. We'll stop for lunch in Renton. Optional stop at the Hard Rock cafe afterwards in downtown Seattle.
Access to the starting location by car is by driving onto the ramp to the Magnolia bridge but before committing to crossing the bridge, look for signs to Amgen and follow them down to 16th W.Follow 16th West south and then take a right on W Galer. we will gather at the south end of West Galer next to the bike trail. If you are riding a bike to the start, ride the Terminal 91 bike path to the north end of Myrtle Edwards Park where the parking spaces are.
Duration of the ride is approximately 6-7 hours.
