LUMPs Matthews Beach Seattle - Pie ride Northend

PIE RIDE: Leisurely Urbane Matthewsbeach Pedalers: We will ride north on the Burke-Gilman Trail to the North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) in Bothell, just beyond Blyth Park near Bothell. Then take a pie break with ice cream or whip cream at NSSC. Note that coffee is also available.  We will be there for about 60 minutes, use the restrooms if needed and then return to Matthews Beach. The company is great and the pace is steady at 12 to 14 mph. Helmets and a functioning bicycle are required. No cue sheets provided. Free parking at Matthews Beach parking lot. Arrive early to beat the sea gulls for a good parking spot.

Route:  Come, have fun, converse and enjoy this social bike ride along the Burke Gilman Trail.  The terrain is flat. 

Pace:  We will ride a steady pace at 12 to 14 mph.

Lights: This is not an after dark ride; you don't need a headlight or a tail light, but these are short days, so if you anticipate some darkness riding come appropriatley equipped.

Fenders: If the riding surfaces are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry.

Ride start: Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the ride to sign the liability waiver and hear the safety briefing. Water and restrooms are available.  No cue sheets will be provided and be prepared if you have a mechanical problem e.g. flat tire.

Register - Please sign an e-waiver by clicking on the “Register Now” button at the top of this page (right below the ride title) and enter your information. If you cannot make the ride, you do not need to unregister.

Weather cancellation: - Showers, snow, icy conditions or more severe weather will cancel the ride.  Ride cancellation will be announced in the comments section at least two hours before start time and the ride leader(s) will not be at the start.
