FRIDAY RIDERS: (Late Start) Kirkland - 520 Bridge Trail - Medina
Event has already happened.
The new 520 Bridge Bike Trail was completed in December 2017. We will check it out from the Eastside crossing over to the other side at Montlake and returning to Bellevue. Venture into Bellevue's scenic and upscale Medina neighborhood. Return via the 520 Bike Trail back to Lake Washington Blvd. There will be a rest stop at Starbucks Carillon Point near the end of the ride.
Start at the Houghton Beach Park off Lake Washington Blvd in Kirkland. There is free parking, water and restrooms at the start.
Meet by 10:45 AM to ready your bike, sign the waiver and listen to a safety briefing. We will try to leave by 11:00 AM. Please carry a spare tube and be able to fix a flat tire. Include snacks and water for an energy boost which are essential sometimes. Everyone is required to wear a helmet! Dress warmly in layers and include gloves and a headband to cover the ears.
If weather is inclement, check the 'comment section' for a cancel notice. The ride may be cancelled 2 hours prior and the ride leader will not appear at the start.
Preregistration is recommended for this ride and saves time at the start. You need to have a Cascade account and log on. Select 'register' on the top of the ride description. If you change your mind you do not have to unregister.
Frosty, icy, slippery and very cold conditions will also cancel the ride.
