Free Group Ride
BALLARD & BEYOND-Trails, Bridges and Waterfront
Event has already happened.
The start is located 1.5 miles west of the Ballard Locks and about a half mile before reaching Golden Gardens Park. There is free parking on both sides of the street and clean, warm restrooms are available.
We will head south on the Burke Gilman Trail (BGT) to the Fremont Bridge, continue on the West Lake Union Bikeway (trail) to Mercer St, pass by the Space Needle and make our way across the Fourth Street Bridge to the Elliott Bay Trail (EBT). We will then follow the waterfront around the corner, past the Cruise Ship Terminal at Smith Cove, over the narrow bridge that crosses the RR tracks to the end of the EBT at Elliott Bay Marina in Magnolia. The final leg will take us to the Ballard Locks where we will cross the bridges? to join the BGT back to our starting point. There will be a lunch stop along the way.
Please arrive 15 to 20 minutes early to ready your bike and yourself for a prompt departure at 10:00. Also, you should be prepared with a spare tube and the tools necessary to change a flat tire.
