Looking for a relatively short ride with a little bit of challenge? Start your morning off with a couple leg limbering climbs! We will begin at Log Boom Park and get a nice warm-up along the Burke Gilman Trail. The route takes the easy way up Norway Hill and gives us an awesome down hill experience. We will then have 3 miles of rest, riding flat on Woodinville Rd in preparation for tackling Hollywood Hill. Once we complete Hollywood it is a relaxing flat ride back to Log Boom.
This is a social paced ride with most of our flat sections on bike trail where we will not surpass the 15 mile/hr speed limit. We will regroup at the top and bottom of the hills. We will wait several minutes at the top of the hills but if a rider is significantly off the group pace we will carry on with the ride, so please come prepared to finish the ride on your own with a cue sheet or GPS device. We are pleased to offer a Moderate paced group and a Brisk paced group for this ride this week.
There are restrooms and water at Log Boom where we start. Riders should carry nutrition/water, be able to sustain the pace, and have the know-how and equipment to fix a flat tire or minor mechanical issue. It is strongly suggested to carry a phone to call for assistance if needed. Be sure to arrive at least 20 minutes early in order to get yourself ready, sign the waiver, and listen to the S.M.A.R.T. briefing.
Please register for this ride by logging into the Cascade site, opening the ride, and clicking the “Register Now” button just below the ride title, this allows you to sign the e-waiver. Registration is not mandatory but it allows us to print the rider list beforehand and helps us save time at the ride start.
Be considerate and have full fenders including mud flaps if roads are wet or a prediction of rain is in the forecast. The riders behind you will much appreciate it! If you do not have fenders/flaps in wet conditions you will be asked to ride at the back of the group.
A route map and cue sheet are attached and the link for the Ride With GPS file is below. If you want a cue sheet please print and bring it. The ride leader will not have extra copies.
Cancellation Policy: If needed, a weather cancellation will be posted two hours prior to the ride start time in the Comments section below, and the ride leader will not be at the ride start. Please check here or on the Meetup site before leaving for the ride.
