Seattle Pastry Rides: Beacon Hill to Macrina SODO (Brisk)
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
It’s almost fall … time to start riding for pastries! Come join us in our ongoing quest to find the best pastries on the Puget Sound.
This week, we will continue to explore the south end. We will start at Jefferson Park on Beacon Hill and take the Chief Sealth Trail south towards Rainier Beach neighborhood. Then we will visit Kubota Gardens to see some early fall colors before taking Rainier Ave north towards Lake Washington Blvd. After that, we will take the I-90 Trail to SODO neighborhood for a brief rest stop at Macrina Bakery and some photo opportunities of the murals along the SODO trail before heading back to Beacon Hill.
Pace: Please note, we will ride within the posted pace on the flats with an equivalent effort up hills. If you plan to ride faster or slower, please come prepared to ride on your own so that each pace group does not have long wait times.
Regroups/Mechanicals: This will be a social ride with waits at the top of long climbs and all critical turns along with photo op stops along the way. We will not stop for mechanical issues. Please come prepared the necessary equipment you need to take care of flats or other problems on your own. Please print a cue sheet from the route link in the event that you get separated from the group.
Rest Stops: There are restrooms at the Jefferson Park community center. We will ride by a few parks, so we can stop as we find necessary. The bakery stop is at MP17.5.
Requirements: Please make sure to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ride start so you can get prepared to roll out at the posted time, sign a waiver, and hear the ride briefing. As is required with all Cascade rides, please ensure you wear a helmet and come prepared with gear that is comfortable and appropriate for the distance/elevation.
RSVP: Please sign an e-waiver (red button just below the ride title if you are signed into Cascade.org), so we can plan for the appropriate number of Ride Leaders. It is a great place for ride discussions and sharing photos after the ride
Cancellation Policy: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride and the ride leaders will not be at the ride start location.
