“On this international day of friendship, let us cultivate warm ties that strengthen our common humanity and promote the well-being of the human family” – United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Read it again; this is such a powerful statement from Ban Ki-moon!
So, let’s go for a ride! You are highly encouraged to bring a friend and wear the colors that represent your country and/or your culture! A special (free) memento will be available for the first many riders. It reflects the desire to promote friendships between people and cultures through cycling.
Route: The route starts in Redmond, we hit some hills and heads north to Mill Creek where we'll have a rest stop at the Spotted Cow Coffee Company (mile 23). Besides coffee they also have ice cream available! After meandering through Mill Creek we'll hit some rural roads, stop briefly at Maltby Park (mile 34) and return to Redmond via a bunch of fun hills (so nobody feels bad about that ice cream).
Registration: Your registration on this website is much appreciated. Sign in to your (free) account, then register. You can also find us on Meetup.com
Expectations (important, please read!): Arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the ride to part of the safety briefing. S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; we want to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish/King County and be safe! Riders should be able to maintain the chosen pace. We regroup occasionally. Riders have to be independent when they have a flat and/or mechanical. Please print a cue sheet in case you get separated from the group. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by having a positive attitude, having fenders when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast, enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun! Steady rain or other unsafe conditions cancels the ride. If the ride is canceled by 06:30am, it will be posted in the comment section. In that case the ride leaders will not be at the start.
Check out the links below: You'll find links to our route, one if you are new to group riding, want to bring a minor, our safety briefing and a link of how you can become a ride leader.
