Free Group Ride
Salty Sunday Century
Event has already happened.
Summer is here, and it's heating up. Come see the beauty of the PNW, challenge yourself, and escape the city heat on your bike! This will be a hilly century ride, and will include three ferry rides. You will need money for two ferry rides, and lunch.
We will start early, rolling at 6:45AM sharp from Edmonds Marina Beach Park, to make our way to the 8:00AM Mukilteo ferry sailing to Clinton. From there, we will work our way up Whidbey Island to the Keystone ferry, and on to Port Townsend. There are several options here for a planned lunch stop. Then we turn south down the peninsula through Port Ludlow, across the Hood Canal Bridge, and on to Kingston. We will then enjoy the return ferry ride back to the start!
All riders are responsible to bring tools and knowledge to repair flats or mechanical issues, and have a plan of rescue should you have serious mechanical failure.
Please be ready to roll by 6:35AM for the ride briefing and SMART safety talk. The start time gives us little wiggle room to board the 8:00AM ferry. If you are too late for the SMART talk, you are too late to ride with the group!
Please RSVP for the ride by clicking the red "Register Now" button at this top of the page. Then put a checkmark in the waiver release box, complete the contact information, and click "Save". This process requires a Cascade Bicycle Club account. If you do not have one, it's simple, free, and explained on their website. This will save time at the ride start for everyone, but if not there will be a waiver sheet to sig
The weather is looking hot, so please be prepared with hydration and food. Bring at least two water bottles, and start hydrating the day before!
If you would like a cue sheet, please print one from the RWGPS link below.
Information and ticket purchasing for the ferries can be found at the link below. Purchasing tickets for the Mukilteo-Clinton, and Coupeville-Port Townsend ferries in advance, will save time in loading.
