Grand Ridge & Duthie Hill Mountain Biking
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Mountain biking up the steep single track twists and hairpin turns of Grand Ridge to Duthie Hill park. The route will include a few runs in Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park such as Steppin Out and Boot Camp to provide a few thrills! If the weather is acceptable, we may also venture north to Soaring Eagle and make a few spins in the mud and rocks. The route back is as hard if not more difficult than the route up. This is a beautify area with lots of trees, wetlands, creeks, rocks, and yes lots of heart attack climbing. The route will be 20 to 30 miles depending on the Soaring Eagle section. Allow 3 hours for the ride. The pace will be about 8 mph (easy but that is deceptive as it is steep hard climbing). We will try to stay together, but it is hard to get lost.
Bring everything you need including water, food, tubes, and a chain quick link (trust me on this). There is nothing available on this route. Make sure your bike is in great working order. Mountain bikes only, not for cross bikes. The route link does not include Soaring Eagle section. Light rain will not cancel this ride as determined by the ride leader. There is lots of tree cover to stay moderately dry.
