Free Group Ride
FRIDAY RIDERS -- Everett and Ebey Island Wander
Event has already happened.
Ride on a island with no ferry trip! We'll follow the Interurban Trail up to Everett where we'll stop at the train station to admire the terrazzo floor depicting Snohomish County waterways and boats, and the Weyerhaeuser murals. We'll then proceed to the Hwy 2 trestle bike path to make our journey to Ebey Island. You've driven past it on I-5, or over it on Hwy 2 -- now you get to see it up close! This bucolic semi-rural island is surrounded by the Snohomish River and Ebey Slough. We'll poke around and enjoy views of cows, horses, orchards, grasslands, and big green pipes. We'll return to the noise and bustle of Everett and enjoy lunch at Ivar's Seafood Bar before finishing the long grade back uphill to our starting point.
Bring plenty of water and also money for lunch.
Also bring a spare tube and tools for flat fixing. Come early for the safety briefing -- we'll try to leave promptly at 10am
Heavy showers or steady rain cancels. If it looks like intermittant light rain showers, I'll be at the ride start and will consult the Dark Sky app to make my decision about riding or not. Feel free to call me at 425-238-4045 for updates that morning.
