SLOW Ride Along Central Seattle Greenway (Easy)
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Ride SLOW with Senior Ladies on Wheels along the new Central Seattle Neighborhood Greenway, running north-south from Rainier Ave. to Montlake. Everyone welcome, ladies and gentlemen, old and young, and everyone in between - as long as you ride SLOW! What is a Neighborhood Greenway? It's just a quiet residential street that's had a few tweaks to make it safer and more comfortable for people who walk and bike. Speed limit is 20 mph, reinforced with speed humps. Arterial crossings are made safer with flashing beacons or half-signals activated by people walking or biking. If you haven't biked on a Neighborhood Greenway, this is a great introduction. If you're already a Greenways fan, come see how well this one meets the goal of providing a safe route for people of all ages and abilities. As always, No one will be left behind - the slowest rider sets the pace. And there's no shame in getting off and walking a block or so. We'll stop for lunch along the way; expect to spend about 3 hours traveling the 10 mile loop. Weather won't cancel, but if it's pouring rain we might make it a shorter ride.
