East Lake Sammamish Christmas Lights and Caroling Ride
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Come for a fun, leisurely, social ride to look at the Christmas lights on the houses along the East side of Lake Sammamish! We will ride from the East Lake Sammamish Trail parking lot toward Issaquah on the trail to see the beautifully decorated houses on the lake. Five miles of this trail is packed gravel. We rode on it on our road bikes on Thanksgiving and it was a lot of fun! At the roundabout on the Issaquah border we will come off the trail, cross East Lake Sammamish Parkway at the crosswalk there, and ride back to the parking lot, seeing all of the lights on the houses across the street from the lake. We will detour around the hill, taking East Lake Sammamish Place to look at those lights as well! Photo opportunities will abound!! You can see the ride route at the link below.
The Ride Leader will be playing Christmas music on a speaker on her bike. Others are welcome to bring a speaker and Christmas music as well, we will space the music carriers out so everyone can enjoy the music. Singing along is encouraged! PLEASE NOTE: Ear buds and headphones are not allowed on Cascade rides. Please do not come expecting to wear yours.
I also encourage everyone to decorate your bike, throw on an ugly Christmas sweater over your jacket, wear a Santa hat over your helmet... Have fun and go all out with your Christmas bling! Just remember safety first! After the ride you are welcome to join me at Peet's for a hot chocolate or other beverage and keep the party going for a little while!
While this is a STAY TOGETHER ride, please come with the skills and equipment to change a flat; the group will not stop for mechanical issues. There are no rest stops during the ride, or water at the start. There is a portable toilet. Please plan ahead. THIS IS AN AFTER DARK RIDE! A GOOD HEADLIGHT AND TAILLIGHT ARE REQUIRED! Helmets are required and fenders are also required if the roads are wet or there is any chance of rain.
Please arrive 20 minutes early in order to sign the liability release and hear the safety briefing. Print contact information clearly on the waiver, or register online, so we can reach you in case you become separated.
