Short Ride on Shortest Day of the Year
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
The shortest day of 2015 will occur on Dec 21 2015 (according to http://www.timeanddate.com/sun/usa/seattle?month=12&year=2015). Sunrise will occur at 7:55 am and Sunset will occur at 4:20pm. This will be the shortest day of the year (2015) by less than 1 second (the next shortest day is Dec 22)! So in celebration, we'll be doing a short social ride from Wilmot Gateway in Woodinville to Redmond Town Center for coffee, tea, or other (please bring funds if you wish to avail yourself of the holiday treats!) This is a very flat route largely on the Sammamish River Trail and using the new Redmond Connector to ride into Redmond Town Center which hopefully will be in full holiday decoration mode! We'll be adhering to the advertised pace of 10-12 mph on the flats. Faster riders are welcome to go ahead but for them the ride becomes self-guided. This is an excellent ride for a) getting a head start on your New Year's Resolutions to ride more, b) bringing along your significant other or a friend for a start-up ride to enjoy, or c) if you just want to do a fun social ride in a leisurely manner! Just be sure to dress appropriate for the weather conditions that day.
The ride route is at http://ridewithgps.com/routes/11329070
In case of steady rain or other hazardous weather conditions, the ride leader will post a cancellation note in the comments section of this posting.
