Free Group Ride
Seattle Pastry Rides: Macrina Bakery (Brisk)
Event has already happened.
It’s FALL … time to start riding for pastries! Come join us in our ongoing quest to find the best pastries on the Puget Sound. This week, we will ride out of Gas Works' parking lot. We will head southeast to Volunteer Park via Interlaken. Then, we will cross South Lake Union to climb Dexter Avenue to the top of Queen Anne hill. We will make a scenic loop around the top of the hill before making a stop at Macrina Bakery. We will return to Gas Works Park via Magnolia, the Ballard Locks, and the Ballard Greenway. This ride has a few large hills, but a bakery stop at Macrina's will make all the huffing and puffing worth it!
Pace: Please note, we will ride within the posted pace on the flats with an equivalent effort up hills. If you plan to ride faster or slower, please come prepared to ride on your own so that each pace group does not have long wait times.
Regroups/Mechanicals: This will be a social ride with waits at the top of hills and all critical turns along with photo op stops along the way. We will not stop for mechanical issues. Please come prepared the necessary equipment you need to take care of flats or other problems on your own. Please print a cue sheet from the route link in the event that you get separated from the group.
Rest Stops: There are restrooms at the start. The bakery stop at Macrina is at mp 11.7. There is a third opportunity to fill up water bottles and use the restroom at the Ballard Locks.
Requirements: Please make sure to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ride start so you can get prepared to roll out at the posted time, sign a waiver, and hear the ride briefing. As is required with all Cascade rides, please ensure you wear a helmet and come prepared with gear that is comfortable and appropriate for the distance/elevation.
RSVP: Please RSVP for the ride either here or on Meetup if you have an account, so we can plan for the appropriate number of Ride Leaders. Meetup is a great place for ride discussions and sharing photos after the ride.
Cancellation Policy: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride and the ride leaders will not be at the ride start location.
Start Location Notes: Bathrooms at start. We will meet on the east side of the Gas Works parking lot.
