May is Bike Month! Let's all ride to the official kick-off party!
We don't have all the details about Cascade Bicycle Club's big kick-off event yet, but we know there will be:
* Free bike maintenance
* Bike-related crafts
* Bike rodeo for kids
* Cargo bike expo
* Food and beverages
It's at the Cascade Bicycling Center--their new offices in Magnuson Park so this is a great opportunity to see the new space, too.
The event is 11-2 and we want to get there at 11 so we will DO SAFETY BRIEFING AT 9:45 AND START PEDALING AT 10:00 PROMPTLY. It's five miles and all flat--yay!
Husky Grind at Mercer Court is along the Burke-Gilman Trail, just east of the Wall of Death under the University Bridge (street address: 3925 Adams Lane NE, Seattle, WA 98105).
The coffee shop opens a 9 a.m. so go early if you want a snack before the ride. There's a nice open area by the cafe for gathering off the trail.
What to Know Before You Go
- Advance registration required. Cancel if unable to attend, to open space for others.
- Must be present at safety briefing to participate.
- Helmets required.
- Riders under 18 years old require parental consent & approval from the Ride Leader.
