Walla Walla Weekend - Fall Edition (Moderate)
Event has already happened.
Come join us for our annual fall trip to beautiful Walla Walla. You will love the change of pace from Seattle -- long stretches of road with little traffic, less hurried drivers, and lots of great sights to see.
This is a three day weekend of riding, but feel free to join for whichever rides work for your schedule -- Friday (9:30 AM), Saturday (8:30 AM), and Sunday (9 AM). Please arrive 20 minutes prior to the ride start time to sign a liability form and get ready to roll out at the time listed. We will start the weekend with a nice 55-65 miles ride on Friday, followed by the longest ride on Saturday, then shorter recovery ride on Sunday. Paces offered will be steady (12-14 on flats), moderate (14-16 mph on flats), brisk (16-18 on flats), vigorous (18-20 on flats), and strenuous (20-21 on flats).
Friday's ride will start from Five Star Cellars(http://www.fivestarcellars.com/) near the Walla Walla airport. This is a winery in an area that has many wineries (and a brewery) nearby, so I am hoping you will stay a while and explore. Light food will be provided at this venue. Please bring cash for tipping! Five Star wines are very good. The wineries will be processing fruit ("crush") while we are there, so we may get to see some action!
Cue sheets provided at the ride start.
Cancellation Policy: Steady Rain Cancels as well as Ice/Snow. Please RSVP (link below) to join the conversation about the rides and to help us ensure enough ride leader support. Ride director & leaders will not be at the ride start in the event of hard rain/ice/snow but will be available via phone or email to confirm cancellation. Cancellation will also be posted to Meetup one hour before ride start as necessary.
These rides are not supported. We will provide short rest stops along the route, but please come prepared with your own food and beverages. Hotel accommodations are to be handled by riders individually as needed. Please email the Ride Director with any questions/concerns.
General information on Free Group Rides can be found here. As customary for all Cascade rides, please make sure you wear a helmet and have necessary gear and knowledge to fix any flats you might get along the way. The group will not stop for flats or mechanicals, but our sweeps will ensure you have a cue sheet to continue the ride.
