Please join me for a ride on the Chisahaud Loop Trail around Lake Union. Our ultimate destination is the Women Bike, panel discussion, hosted by the Cascade Bicycle Club at REI. If you've ever wanted to get started biking, bike more, or have other questions about comfort, confidence and camaraderie, this is the place to ask.  Bring your friends!

Meet on April 8, 4:00, South Lake Union Park (on the gravel paths near the west side). We'll start along the Chisahaud Trail/Westlake Multi-use path, cross the Fremont Bridge and make a stop at Gasworks Park to meet more women. Leave Gasworks at 4:45 (call if you are meeting us here 206 390 3945), and ride the east side of the trail together via scenic Fairview Ave pea patch, parks and houseboats. We'll end the ride at the Cactus in South Lake Union for more chat, food and beverage if you want to hang out before the forum at 7:00. (Don't forget to bring some cash) Feel free to join us at Cactus if you can't make the ride.

  • Riders under 18 years old require parental consent & approval from the Ride Leader.

What Pace Means

Pace classification indicates the intended range of speeds on level ground without breaks. This means downhill sections of the ride may be faster, and uphill sections slower.

Note: For rides with a “hilly” terrain classification, consider choosing a pace one step down from your usual comfort level.

Mostly Flat

What Terrain Means

Terrain indicates the most common or average terrain type of the ride and should be considered relative to the length and overall difficulty of the ride. For example, a long-distance ride with a lot of elevation gain will be overall less challenging than a short ride with equal elevation gain. Consider the pace and frequency of regroup as well to understand how advanced a ride may be.

  • Mostly flat: Trails and/or mostly flat roads with a possible gentle uphill
  • Rolling: Climbs are short and easy, not too numerous
  • Some hills: A few short, steep hills, some moderate upgrades and/or longer gentle climbs
  • Hilly: Consistent or continuous climbing
  • Off-road: Significant unpaved sections
