SLOW Ride to Central Seattle Greenways
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
This is a S.L.O.W. Ride with Senior Ladies* On Wheels (*all riders of all ages welcome, as long as you ride S.L.O.W.!).
Starting at the Northwest African American Museum on the I-90 lid, we will explore sections of two proposed Neighborhood Greenways in Central Seattle. First we will ride on the trail through Judkins Park, then follow the proposed Central Ridge Route Greenway along the crest of the hill on 20th Ave, shifting over to 19th, 18th then crossing Madison at 17th. We will then ride down the hill on Denny to 21st Avenue, and return south along the proposed Central Seattle Neighborhood Greenway parallel to the arterial on 23rd. The Greenway crosses 23rd at Columbia, then proceeds south on 25th to return to our starting point. We will have optional refreshment stops along the way at Tougo Coffee on 18th and Union, and at Judkins Street Cafe on 26th and Judkins. These routes are low traffic with gentle grades; caution is required at arterial crossings which will be much improved when these routes are built out as Greenways. We will stay together throughout the ride, with pauses to discuss features of the proposed Neighborhood Greenways. No rain cancellation - but come prepared! The slowest rider sets the pace - don't worry, we won't hurry!
